The idea for this piece came from memories of a hot summer night, up on a mountain, sitting outside a wooden hut for wanderers away from city and town life, watching little glowing insects flying around. This piece illustrates the life cycle of these lovely creatures; birth, life, winter sleep and new awakening. It is a positive work and recreates a picture of undisturbed nature. Each section leads attacca into the next part. Winter Sleep here means a deep sleep before the next spring. Nature is far too often disturbed by civilization, and perhaps this piece could help some awareness to the plight of many creatures on the brink of extinction.
